Unless you’ve been living under a rock or something, Everyone in the world already knows that right now the Pacquiao Storm is ripping through opponents and is devouring them at will. Right now no other fighter in the world has been on their game as much as Pacquiao has been on his. Many have recently called Pacquiao the badest man on the planet, Pacquiao’s 2 round destruction of the Brittish Bulldog, Ricky Hatton is still being talked about, it was like the shot heard round the world. Even with the Pacquiao Storm coming across the ocean like an avalanche at full speed through various weights, the questions will soon be asked. Today, I will jump ahead and answer those same very questions that are being asked online, by the water cooler at work, the barber shop and so on. Please note that these are simply just my opinions on these fights, I am a big Pacquiao fan and I am not looking to take anything away from the Pac-Mans great accomplishments. I’m sure that I will get alot of feedback on this in my inbox, so I guess I will respond to you then.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Money Mayweather Jr.- This fight by far we all know is the biggest Money fight out there to be made, that we do know. What we don’t know is that if and when this mega fight happens, who will win? and how will the fight be fought? and at what weight? Well in a perfect world, after Mayweather beats Marquez, yeah I said it, after the destruction of Marquez, negotiations for Mayweather/Pacquiao will then begin. The fight will take place somewhere around late October or early November, I envision Roach trying to get Floyd to come down to a 145 pound catch weight. Floyd agrees to the terms but only if it’s a 52-48 split. At first Arum and Roach laugh at the thought, then Arum proposes a 55-45 split. Talks go dead for a while then out of nowhere the fight gets made at a 145 pound catch weight with a 52-48 split. The Epic Showdown begins and for the first couple rounds the Pac-Man is darting in and out finding Mayweather with rapid shots, Mayweather though noticeably hurt by some of the shots begins to smile in an attempt to hide the obvious. By round 6, Roger is telling Floyd, ” He aint doing shit, get on his ass and jab this motherfu**er.” In rounds 7 and 8, Floyd begins to figure the Pacqiao Puzzle and begins to jab and begins to find Pacquiao more and more with straight rights. By round 9, Floyd discovers that Pacquiao is a totally different fighter when being backed up, Floyd then leads more and more often. The best round comes in round ten, both fighters go for broke and make it a very exciting round, the round brings everyone off of their seats. In round 11, Floyd is either tired or playing it safe, in this round Floyd goes into defensive mode and allows for Pacquiao to lead. It’s a typical pot shotting round for Floyd. The last round begins and Pacquiao comes out like a devil from hell. Floyd is playing it safe thinking that the fight is in the bag, or maybe he is hoping that the Tazmanian Devil punches himself out, the last 20 seconds finds Pacquiao charging at Floyd, Floyd holds to kill time and just like that, the great fight that is billed Godzilla is now over. The scores are read and all three judges thought that Floyd did just enough to win by scores of 115-112 all around. Floyd cries in his fathers arms. Merchant interviews Floyd and asks Floyd if he would give Pacquiao a rematch, Floyd then calls Pacquiao the best opponent he ever faced and says ”Sure why not, we could do Godzilla 2 the saga continues, I told you that I’m the best Larry, but you never give me my due.”
Manny Pacquiao vs. Juan Manuel Marquez 3- If Marquez shocks the world and beats Mayweather in July, then this fight must be made. If this fight does get made, As much as I respect and love Marquez the master, I feel that Pacquiao will go for it and knock out Marquez!! I just feel that if you go back to their first fight, Marquez has pretty much stayed the same in his approach, where with Pacquiao he has improved dramatically in all areas and continues to improve. For the first 5 or 6 rounds it will be pretty even like the rematch was but then in round 7, Pacquiao will catch Marquez with a right that Marquez never saw coming. Marquez will finally be hit with a punch from Pacquiao that he can’t get up from.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley- You got one fighter at 30 and in his prime killing foes like nothing, then you got an old silent killer at 38 in Mosley. Sounds simple right? Make the fight and have the Pac-Man gobble up the old vet and add another future Hall Of Famer to his resume right? Not so easy. Roach himself has recently admitted that Mosley would be the hardest test for Pacquiao, and you know what? Roach is right. The fight would be an all out war with both men going hard at each other.
Pacquiao will trouble Mosley at first with that south paw stance, but by round 6, Mosley will catch Pacquiao with a brutal body shot then catch him upstairs with a right hook spelling doom for Pacquiao. Pacquiao beats the count but barely does so, the bell then rings. Round 7 begins and Mosley goes for the kill, for the first time in I don’t know how long, Pacquiao is in retreat mode and is forced to clutch on to Mosley from time to time. By round nine, Mosley catches Pacquiao clean with a huge left hook and the immortal Manny Pacquiao is once again mortal.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto- Assuming of course that Cotto can get past the tough as nails Clottey first. Arum would love to make this fight happen, both Top Rank fighters going at it for all the power not just in the sport but also for the top star seat at Top Rank. I see this fight going similar to the Pacquiao/Mosley fight with Cotto being too strong for Pacquiao, I see the Boriqua Bomber stopping Pacquiao in his tracks in the 10th round in a thrilling fun brutal fight.
