Moments ago, inside of the media room at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, newly-crowned WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi made a surprise appearance ahead of this weekend?s ?Ring Kings? pay-per-view extravaganza headlined by Floyd Mayweather?s challenge of Miguel Cotto?s WBA junior middleweight crown.
Malignaggi is days removed from a stirring and one-sided 9th round TKO over former champion Vyacheslav Senchenko in his opponent?s hometown of Donetsk, Ukraine. Now a champion in his second division, as Malignaggi used to hold the IBF junior welterweight strap, he is eyeing the biggest fights possible near his weight class.
Malignaggi showed interested in the Mayweather-Cotto fight, the June 9th Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley welterweight title bout, as well as the June 23rd rematch between former champion Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz.
